The project
Inside Solaya Resort: 285 chalets, one address
A guided tour of Al Dar's gated community in Hurghada — nineteen floor plans, pools and gardens, and a commercial mall woven into daily life.
Solaya Resort is Al Dar's first community on the Red Sea coast, and its plan reads simply: 285 tourist chalets in a gated setting in Hurghada, arranged around the things a day actually needs. Not a tower on a strip and not a compound of walls — a neighbourhood, drawn from scratch, where nineteen floor plans share swimming pools, landscaped gardens, and a commercial mall at the centre.

Nineteen ways to live
The units span four families: compact, light-filled studios; one-bedroom chalets with room for a family holiday; two-bedroom chalets across the resort's widest choice of plans; and spacious three-bedroom homes. Every plan is published with its floor-plan drawing — zoomable, down to the dimension lines — so the comparison between them is concrete rather than notional. A community that publishes its drawings is telling you what it thinks of your judgment.
The mall at the centre
What lifts the plan above a collection of chalets is the commercial mall — 1,134 square metres of net commercial area woven into the project, keeping daily life within a short walk:
- A supermarket and daily services
- Cafés and restaurants
- A pharmacy and laundry
- Banking and business lounges
Commercial space inside a residential plan is usually an afterthought — a kiosk by the gate. Here it is the organizing idea: the mall sits where the community's paths cross, so the errand is on the way to everything rather than a destination of its own.

Managed, safe, smart
The community runs on systems rather than goodwill. A short inventory of what works while you are at the beach:
- 24/7 security and CCTV across the gated community
- Smart access cards at the doors that need them
- Fire and safety systems throughout
- Dedicated property management for the everyday and the long term
The car is catered for on the same terms: underground and shaded parking, electric-car charging stations, and a shuttle service with drop-off and valet areas tying the resort to Hurghada Downtown. The design assumption is not that you will give up driving — it is that a good week shouldn't depend on it.
A resort should behave like a small, complete neighbourhood.
— Al Dar
The result is exactly that — one address where the holiday home, the gym, the grocery, and the sea share the same gates. Solaya is Al Dar's first community on this coast; the plan is drawn to be worth repeating.
